#ZERO-WASTE-MOVEMENT

Terms of Service

These terms apply when you use #ZERO-WASTE-MOVEMENT as a resident, organisation, council officer, inspector or administrator. By using the service, you agree to use it responsibly and lawfully.

Last updated: 9 September 2026

Purpose of the service

The service supports environmental reporting, waste collection information, campaigns, learning, organisation compliance, inspections and public-authority operations. Features and participating areas may change as councils and organisations join.

Accounts and access

You must provide accurate account information, protect your sign-in details and promptly report suspected unauthorised access. Staff and organisation access is limited to the responsibilities and records assigned to that account. You may not impersonate another person or attempt to gain unauthorised access.

Reports, photos and other content

Only submit information you reasonably believe is accurate and relevant. Do not upload unlawful, threatening, misleading or privacy-invasive content. You must have the right to share submitted photos and documents. Avoid including faces, private documents or personal details unless they are necessary for the report.

Permission to process submissions

You keep ownership of content you submit. You give the service and responsible authorities permission to store, review, share internally and use that content as needed to investigate, assign, act on and close the matter, and to improve environmental services.

Council actions and service information

A submitted report does not guarantee a particular response time or outcome. Collection dates, notices, alerts and status updates can change. The responsible council, organisation or authority controls operational decisions and official enforcement action.

Safety and emergencies

Do not put yourself at risk to take a photo, locate waste or gather evidence. The service is not an emergency channel. Contact the appropriate emergency service or public authority directly when there is immediate danger to people, property or the environment.

Prohibited use

  • Submitting deliberately false, abusive or duplicate reports.
  • Accessing, changing or disclosing records without authority.
  • Interfering with the service, its security or another user.
  • Using collected information for harassment, discrimination or unlawful surveillance.

Availability and account action

We may maintain, change or temporarily suspend parts of the service. Access may be restricted or removed when these terms are breached, an account creates risk, or an authority changes a person’s assigned role.

Changes and questions

We may update these terms as the service develops. The current version and effective date will remain on this page. Questions can be sent through the service’s feedback channel while a dedicated support address is being established.
