Privacy Policy
#ZERO-WASTE-MOVEMENT helps residents, organisations and public authorities report and manage environmental and waste issues. This policy explains what information the service handles and why.

Information we collect
When you create an account, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, council and ward.
When you submit a report or request, we may collect its description, category, photos, location, council area, status and the updates connected to it.
We also keep information needed for organisation compliance, inspections, collection services, campaigns, lessons and account security.
Location information
Your device location is requested only when you choose to use a location feature. It helps identify the relevant council or place an environmental report on the map. You can refuse or withdraw location permission in your browser or device settings.
How information is used
- Send reports and service requests to the responsible team.
- Show relevant collection schedules, notices, campaigns and alerts.
- Track reports, inspections, compliance work and learning progress.
- Protect accounts, prevent misuse and improve the service.
- Produce combined service information without exposing unnecessary personal details.
Who can see information
Authorised council, inspection, environmental and system administration teams may see information needed for their duties. An organisation can see its own records and invited team members. Public maps and issue pages may show environmental issue details, but should not display private account information.
Google sign-in
If you choose Google sign-in, we receive the basic account details Google shares for authentication, such as your name, email address and account identifier. We use them to create or access your account; we do not receive your Google password.
Storage, security and retention
Information is stored using access controls designed to limit it to the correct people and organisations. Records are kept for as long as needed to provide the service, meet public-service or legal obligations, resolve disputes and protect the system. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
You may update your profile, control location permission and ask for access to, correction of or deletion of personal information where the law allows. Operational or legal records may need to be retained even after an account request.
Policy changes and questions
We may update this policy when the service or applicable requirements change. The latest version and its date will remain available on this page. Privacy questions can be sent through the service’s feedback channel while a dedicated support address is being established.
